* They are experienced with babies with reflux, colic, gas, and with premature monitored babies. They are also experienced in multiple births, twins and triplets.
* They provide you with different techniques in order to give your baby a good start like scheduling baby's feeding and sleeping time and educate you in all newborn aspects. They will train your baby, the more time they stay with the baby, the more training your baby will receive because they are knowledgeable of newborn development.
* They are supportive to breastfeeding moms and assist them in positionning babies on the breast, to latch on properly. They will demonstrate different positions on the breast and different burping techniques. A baby nurse provides comfort and reassurance to a first time parent allowing the mother to learn about her baby, to develop a strong relationship and bonding with her newborn.
*Hiring a baby nurse allows you to rest and to gain enough sleep after the hospital. The duty of a baby nurse is to focus on the care of the newborn and to also provide support to the mom. It is always good to encourage mom to sleep and to rest to avoid postpartum depression and also to increase her milk supply which is very important. The baby nurse can also educate mom in how to take care of herself (mother well care) and give her advice in nutrition while breastfeeding. Baby nurses would offer you a cup of tea, an instant oatmeal or will put water at your side to drink, to help building up your milk supply, because you need to drink fluids while breastfeeding. They are not domestics.
"La Creche" also provides experienced doulas to provide emotional support, to help with breastfeeding and to guide you in all aspects of newborn care. The postpartum doula helps with household chores, the care of siblings and cook nutritious meals.
*The doula will assist you with the breastfeeding support in your community, provides with useful resources & will discuss with you the childbirth experience.
*Different from a baby nursing duty, the duty ofa postpartum doula is to take care, to mother & to nurture a woman after maternity, and to help her with the newborn during the postpartum period. She also provides emotional support to the woman who gives birth, assists her emotionally, making her feel confident and comfortable, encouraging her to get some rest, enough sleep to avoid postpartum depression.
